Kassow Robots, a developer of 7-axis robotic solutions, has unveiled its latest cobot designed for machine-tending applications.
The KR810 has a payload of up to 10kg, a reach of 850mm, speed of 225 degree/second and seven degrees of freedom, allowing high production speeds and flexibility in tool movement.
According to Kassow, the KR810 is a strong and fast industrial cobot which requires fewer safety restrictions while offering increased manoeuvrability. The Copenhagen-based firm added this new cobot is ideal for working alongside humans in an industrial environment in machine tending, assembly, limited-space retrofits, and related applications.
“Compact, very strong but lightweight is what Kristian Kassow had in mind when he designed his cobots for flexible jobs at industrial companies,” says Dieter Pletscher, head of sales at Kassow Robots.
“As one of the original co-founders of Universal Robots, Kristian was able use his extensive experience to develop a more advanced 7-axis cobot specifically designed to solve payload, cycle times, reach, and flexibility for multimachine tending applications and related retrofits.”
As with all Kassow Robots products, the KR810 has a seventh axis or “wrist” joint and safety-compliant designs inherent to the cobot class of automated material handling solutions. Work cell designers can place the cobot to the side of an opening, making it easier for employees to access computer numerical control systems, lathes, injection moulds, and related machinery.
Additionally, the KR810 is designed to be easily programmed by any technical expertise level, from engineer to machine operator. Programming the robot is a simple task of moving it into position and recording the key points.
