DB Schenker has implemented AutoStore’s automated goods-to-person solution to improve omnichannel logistics operations for Swedish fashion retailer MQ Marqet.
The automated storage and retrieval system, which operates in Gothenburg, uses warehouse robots to deliver and retrieve bins for operators.
It runs on software linked to DB Schenker’s warehouse management system and includes a sorting plant and section for hanging garments for e-commerce and store-replenishment operations.
AutoStore is part of DB Schenker’s e-commerce portfolio, which is targeted at customers with online business operations looking to achieve efficiency gains via investment in the automation of inventory management.
“We are very happy to serve MQ Marqet in our modern automated logistics centre,” said Håkan Nydén, CEO, Schenker Logistics AB and head of contract logistics, DB Schenker in Sweden and Denmark.
“Our innovative solution is expandable and makes us agile in terms of accommodating customer growth and managing multiple customers from the fast-growing B2C market. At the same time, it saves space and makes for a more ergonomic working environment.”
AutoStore (Stand 400) will be at IntraLogisteX 2022 on 29-30 March at the Coventry Building Society Arena. Go to www.intralogistex.co.uk for more info.
