Skyline Robotics and Alimak Group, have entered into an exclusive partnership to create a next-generation automated, AI-enabled building maintenance unit (BMU).
The collaboration is expected to address key challenges in building maintenance, such as complex design demands, labour shortages, and the evolving need for best practices in the sector.
The companies have joined forces to introduce solutions for the maintenance of high-rise buildings. The partnership also includes a strategic, undisclosed investment from Alimak Group in Skyline Robotics to support the ongoing development of this new project.
The collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability in building management by automating the often labor-intensive tasks associated with facade maintenance.
Skyline Robotics’ flagship technology, the Ozmo robotic window cleaning system, will be integrated with Alimak Group’s vertical access solutions to provide autonomous cleaning, helping buildings maintain their facades more effectively and with minimal human intervention.
As the global construction industry, valued at US$12.74 trillion, continues to evolve, the demand for automated systems in high-rise building maintenance is growing.
Michael Brown, CEO of Skyline Robotics, said: “We are leading a new era of automated facade access. Our exclusive partnership with Alimak Group further extends our vision to own the facade.
“We have seen the impact of automation in existing infrastructure such as our window cleaning robot Ozmo and now look to further transform the industry with the largest global provider of sustainable vertical access solutions.”
