Addverb, a developer of warehouse automation solutions, has announced a newpartnership with DHL Supply Chain in North America.
The collaboration, which sees the deployment of 52 cutting-edge sorting robots, named Zippy, alongside Addverb’s proprietary software solution, both of which are hoped to enhance efficiency and productivity at a DHL Supply Chain distribution facility located in Columbus, Ohio.
Addverb’s solutions focus on a design philosophy of ‘fixed and flexible solutions’, which encompass material movement, storage, sortation, reverse logistics and picking.
These solutions were developed to enable clients to easily integrate efficient and scalable automation systems into their existing infrastructures.

The integration of Addverb’s sortation solution at the Columbus distribution centre has reportedly led to increases in throughput and efficiency, with results exceeding 300%.
Don Sweeney, general manager of DHL’s Columbus facility, said: “We’re very pleased with the partnership between DHL Supply Chain and Addverb. Our project timelines, requirements and deliverables have all been met by Addverb, and it has allowed us to realise an over 300% increase in throughput capability at the Columbus, Ohio site, without having to add more staff to the team,”
DHL Supply Chain’s Columbus facility is now equipped with a suite of robotic capabilities, including assisted picking and container unloading robots alongside the newly introduced sorting robots.
