Brightpick, a provider of warehouse automation solutions for order fulfilment, has announced its first US customers for Brightpick Giraffe, a newly launched autonomous mobile picking system designed to improve warehouse storage density.
The Feed, an e-commerce retailer, and medical wholesaler McGuff Company, will deploy the new robotic solution in 2025, integrating it into their existing automated fulfilment systems.
Brightpick Giraffe is reportedly capable of reaching heights of up to 20ft (6m) and works alongside Brightpick Autopicker robots to optimise storage and retrieval processes.
The system is said to enable warehouses to achieve up to three times the storage density of manual operations and double the density compared to previous Brightpick solutions.
It retrieves storage totes from upper-level shelf locations and delivers them to lower levels for order picking before returning them to storage.
The Feed, an existing Brightpick customer operating 48 Autopickers at its Colorado fulfilment centre, will expand its system with an additional 25 Autopickers and six Giraffes, increasing throughput by 50% to 75,000 picks per day and doubling storage capacity.
McGuff Company will deploy 12 Autopickers and four Giraffes at its California warehouse, targeting a throughput of more than 850 picks per hour to streamline the fulfilment of critical medical products.
