Swedish pharmacy chain Apotek Hjärtat has signed a partnership deal with GreyOrange, which specialises in AI-powered software and mobile robotics for inventory management, to develop automated solutions for its new 20,000m2 (215,278ft2) e-commerce warehouse.
The new facility is set to open in September in Norrköping, a city in the province of Östergötland in eastern Sweden, about 160km (99.5 miles) southwest of the national capital Stockholm
Through the partnership, Apotek Hjärtat hopes to progress the automation of its logistics operations.
The supply warehouse is already mostly automated, but the pharmacy chain expects this new collaboration to offer continuous improvement to its online customer experience.
“Through the collaboration, we continue to automate our logistics flows and thereby lay the foundation for the next generation of e-commerce offering,” said Eric Lundberg, CEO of Apotek Hjärtat.
“We have chosen GreyOrange because it is an innovative and exciting company that is at the forefront of technology and that is exactly where we want to be to give our customers a world-class customer experience.
“The solution that we will look at will be the first in the Nordic region.”
