Nike has deployed more than 200 robots from Geek+ at its new distribution centre in Chiba, Japan, to enable same-day delivery.
The goods-to-person P series line robots carry Nike products and packages directly to warehouse workers, reportedly helping to reduce costs, increase picking efficiency and make daily work easier for warehouse operators.
What’s more, the use of robots has enabled Nike to introduce same-day delivery to its Japanese customers, taking advantage of the rapid growth of e-commerce in the country.
“To meet the demand and challenges brought by the massive growth of online platforms, major retailers such as Nike are introducing robots to transform their logistics operations. Smart robots guarantee lower costs and increased efficiency, flexibility and safety within the warehouse,” said Geek+ in a statement.
