Zebra Technologies Corporation (Zebra), a developer of computing technologies, has announced the launch of Zebra Picking Plus, an Application Programming Interface (API) for SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), which was designed to help customers run warehouses more efficiently.
SAP’s EWM is a warehouse management system (WMS), which is designed to help businesses integrate technology to improve transparency, fulfilment efficiency and digitalisation processes.
The API was designed to work in conjunction with SAP EWM cloud, with Zebra Picking Plus enabling Zebra’s channel partners and application developers to offer browser-based, mobile functionality to improve the efficiency of repetitive warehouse workflow tasks.
According to Zebra, the solution improves productivity by allowing scanning of inventory barcodes while in motion within the warehouse, with the cloud-based SAP database being automatically updated. This reduces the risks of mistakes during data entry by automating the process, Zebra has said.
“Zebra is excited to showcase the benefits of our Enterprise Browser and how Zebra Picking Plus can seamlessly integrate Zebra enterprise mobile computers with SAP EWM Cloud,” said Julie Johnson, vice president and general manager of enterprise mobile computing, Zebra Technologies.
“Organising data streams and streamlining repetitive tasks further enables our customers to empower their front-line workers to be more efficient and focus on more strategic activities.”
Zebra Picking Plus was developed to mobilise existing SAP EWM systems and enable a more modern user experience. It works by increasing the power of Zebra’s Enterprise Browser, which is an open source standard technologies application that supports enterprise operating systems, such as Windows and Android, and runs on almost all of Zebra’s enterprise mobile computers.
Zebra Technologies (Stand i820) will be at IntraLogisteX on 28-29 March 2023 at the NEC Birmingham. For more information, visit www.roboticsandautomation.co.uk and www.intralogistex.co.uk.
