Wise Robotics, a supplier of warehouse automation solutions, and VisionNav, a developer of vision-guided autonomous robotic forklifts, have announced a partnership.
The collaboration means VisionNav’s technology will be available as part of Wise Robotics’ portfolio of solutions, offering another option to UK operators seeking to boost order fulfilment and reduce ongoing costs associated with running a warehouse.
Joe Daft, head of robotics at Wise Robotics, said: “We know the demand for automation in the UK warehouse market continues to grow as businesses seek to find solutions to labour and order fulfilment challenges.
“There’s no one-way-fits-all approach when it comes to automation in the warehouse and that’s why partnerships like this between providers can bring major benefits to the market and our networks.”
Set up in 2016 by the University of Hong Kong and the University of Tokyo, VisionNav supplies warehouse robots that use vision-based intelligence to automate materials handling, storage and retrieval. Its solutions are currently used by 150 businesses in eight countries.
Jason Zhang VisionaNav’s director of sales for Europe, said: “Faced with labour shortages and sharp increase in health risks, the challenge of the logistics and supply-chain system to turn to automation is more urgent than before.
“The flexibility and scalability of the mobile robots are also higher in order to adapt to the changing and diversified market needs and difficulties. This means that highly flexible automatic forklift solutions have a broad application space.
“Thanks to the extensive integration experience from Wise Robotics, which can reliably integrate our robots with its customer’s back-end systems to deliver a seamless, high-performing solution, the cooperation between the two parties is very promising.”
