German automation company Körber and Irish-American IT consultancy Accenture have announced that industrial equipment provider Thermote & Vanhalst (TVH) has selected the Körber K. Motion Warehouse Management System (WMS) and K.Motion Warehouse Control System (WCS) to support the digitisation of warehouses.
Körber has signed up to exhibit some of its solutions at IntralogisteX 2023, which will be co-located with Robotics and Automation 2023.
The agreement between firms will involve implementations across five continents and 48 sites, including warehouses in North and South America, Western Europe, South Africa and China.
The companies hope that the combination of Körber’s WMS, WCS and the cloud can advance the digitisation and automation capabilities of TVH.
“The ability to rely on one provider for our supply chain technology needs was particularly important to us, which is what we found in Körber,” said Kris Thermote, VP logistics and supply chain, International at TVH.
“Its varied technology stack also gives us the option to implement further optimisations down the line.
“Paired with the implementation expertise of Accenture, we’re well positioned to realise our growth ambitions and tap into new opportunities as they come up.”
TVH began its strategic partnership to modernise warehouses with Accenture two years ago.
The business claims to have chosen Körber’s adaptable warehouse solution because, as a cloud-based solution, it offers cyber and data security benefits.
What’s more, Körber’s warehouse control software is suited to TVH’s highly automated sites, with the latter wanting to source software from a single provider as part of its modernisation project.
