Seko Logistics (Seko), a global logistics services provider, has announced a strategic partnership with 3PL warehouse automation firm GreyOrange to support the scaling up of its warehouse operations using robotics and automated solutions.
As part of the agreement, Seko will use a fleet of GreyOrange’s Ranger Assist Bots, as well as its GreyMatter fulfilment orchestration platform. The hope is that this will support Seko to increase capacity and throughput while reducing costs across the warehouse.
GreyOrange claims its solutions can support logistics providers to scale their warehouse operations without the need for additional staff or labour.
Paul Lockwood, group managing director UK and Ireland for SEKO, said: “In our industry, building a scalable logistics solution to meet the ever-changing demand cycles, whilst controlling an increasing cost base, is critical in our customer offering.
“This new partnership with GreyOrange allows our fulfilment centres, starting in the UK, to manage those fluctuations seamlessly and empower our clients to turn their supply chains into a competitive differentiator.
“GreyOrange’s AI-driven software and automation serves as a powerful tool to ensure we’re always delivering high-velocity e-commerce solutions for our clients no matter the season.”
The mentioned GreyMatter fulfilment orchestration platform was designed to coordinate and assign the applications of warehouse robots to improve productivity, speed, accuracy and safety in distribution operations.
What’s more, the platform can reportedly pair robot agents with their according work needs to increase operational efficiency.
The automation company has said it will partner with Zebra Fetch Robotics to support the provision of the Ranger Assist bots, which are autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) designed to suit e-commerce fulfilment and wholesale picking workflows.
