GreyOrange, a developer of automated robotic fulfilment and inventory optimisation software, has announced the launch of its GreyMatter open API (application programming interface).
The API is designed to enables any vendor’s robotic solution to easily connect with the GreyMatter fulfilment orchestration platform and to offer customers the freedom to choose the technology most appropriate to their warehouse environment.
By using the API, GreyMatter claims it can now orchestrate autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and other execution agents that are part of the GreyOrange Certified RangerTMNetwork (CRN) ecosystem.
“The open API integration of GreyMatter makes it easy for any robotics manufacturer to partner with us and be part of our ‘platform of choice’,” said Samay Kohli, co-founder and CEO of GreyOrange.
“GreyMatter API is an answer to the global demand for flexible, automated fulfilment solutions that meet customers’ specific needs without limiting them to a single vendor’s scope.”
The Certified RangerTMNetwork (CRN) ecosystem was established to act as a go-to-market partner for all vendors within the network, as well as the single point of contact responsible for customer satisfaction for system operations involving multiple vendors.
The open API was developed to address a integration headaches by orchestrating multiple solutions at once and thus providing customers with continuous access to new technology in the automated robotic fulfilment market.
The GreyMatter fulfilment orchestration platform was likewise designed to coordinate and assign warehouse applications to robots in order to maximise productivity, speed, accuracy and safety in end-to-end inventory fulfilment operations.
What’s more, GreyMatter can also allocate robot agents according to work needs, including capacity and demand peaks, to support increased productivity across inventory orchestration.
GreyMatter’s technology leverages real time data and machine learning functions to orchestrate fulfilment operations based on service levels to enable the movement of inventory in a fully integrated, end-to-end solution.
The platform connects artificially intelligent (AI) software, smart robots and humans and can reportedly instantly model the best decisions for users and develop optimised workflows and fulfilment applications.
According to GreyOrange, some of its functions include assisted picking, vertical space utilisation and autonomous picking.
