Sony Corporation has unveiled its Airpeak drone for professional photography and video production.
As part of the Japanese technology company’s drone and AI robotic development programme, Airpeak is said to be the industry’s smallest class of drone that can be equipped with an Alpha camera system.
According to Sony, a mirrorless camera will capture high-quality, full-frame aerial photography and video.
Additionally, the drone will provide dynamic filming and precise, stable flight, enabling the system to be used for ag-tech applications as well.
Sony president Kenichiro Yoshida told an online Airpeak rollout event at CES 2021 that “with Sony’s technology, creativity has no limits”.
Sony is looking to secure feedback from a wide range of professional drone users and is currently seeking collaborators in the USA and Japan to participate in its Airpeak project.
