Illinois-based Zebra Technologies claims that its mobile devices have reportedly helped on-demand logistics platform Stuart increase its warehouse productivity by up to 15%.
These productivity increases follow Stuart’s adoption of a solution provided by Zebra and French IT services company Stocovia-ID.
Stuart specialises in express delivery and operates across Europe. Its clients in France include Carrefour, Decathlon, and Nespresso.
The courier ‘needed to upgrade its mobile devices to expand its capabilities to meet increasing customer demand and throughput from opening a new Paris warehouse’. To meet this need, Stocovia-ID created a solution for Stuart using Zebra technology.
In Stuart warehouses, staff have been using a combination of wearable technologies from Zebra: TC5X Series mobile arm-worn computers and RS5100 ring scanners. These two products together allow warehouse operators to work efficiently with both hands free, assisting in the sorting, storage, and retrieval of parcels before the delivery stage.
Zebra claims that this particular solution has ‘already resulted in 10-15% higher output’.
Additionally, Stuart has been using Zebra’s DS2208 handheld imagers as well as ZT411 RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) industrial printers, which have reportedly resulted in 70% print productivity gains.
Léonel de La Bretesche, managing director of Stuart Retail France, said: “Working efficiently and accurately at our sorting centres is vital to our success.
“With this new solution, we are seeing a staggering increase in productivity – up to 70% in certain areas.”
“Our workflows are completely reliable, and we’ve nearly eliminated dispatch errors.
“With more applications in development and the possibility to scale this solution across our business, we look forward to the ongoing collaboration.”
