Osaro, a developer of AI-driven robotics for e-commerce, and packaging company Sealed Air have revealed a new solution for high-volume e-commerce and fulfilment operations.
The new bagging system pairs robots powered by Osaro’s advanced vision software with Sealed Air’s Autobag brand high-speed bagging system.
Osaro claims its autonomous piece-picking robot can be integrated with existing logistics facilities to support the quick and efficient fulfilment of orders. The system is reportedly now available as a ‘drop-in’ upgrade to either existing or new fulfilment operations.
What’s more, the solution is capable of picking and bagging apparel, which represents a large proportion of polybag packaging demands in e-commerce.
“This pairing streamlines the deployment of robotic auto-bagging applications for customers, providing an end-to-end solution for a high-demand need against the backdrop of persistent labor shortages,” said Derik Pridmore, CEO of Osaro.
“We look forward to putting our piece-picking robot to work with equipment from a trusted and experienced supplier like [Sealed Air].”
According to Osaro, its robotic systems offer object recognition and manipulation that augment bagging productivity, delivering robust and efficient automation in a wide variety of logistics applications.
Moreover, its systems can, it claims, be operated with minimal human oversight, with the Osaro Robotic Bagging System being capable of packing and shipping a wide range of SKUs.
The two companies suggest that fulfilment centres, warehouses and direct-to-consumer (DTC) e-commerce centres can now upgrade and streamline order fulfilment with this solution.
