Monopoly Dreams Hong Kong, a theme park centred around the board game, and Hong Kong robotics firm Novelte Robotics, have collaborated to provide a robotic butler to offer interactive information to visitors of the park.
The robot, named GB1, can reportedly operate uninterrupted during opening hours every day and was programmed to provide visitors with services at various attraction sites.
Some of its assigned roles include receptionist, tour guide leading visitors and as a stand-by source of information.
GB1 is configured with a 14in high-resolution touch screen (1920p x 1,080p) interactive interface and has a one-metre tall robot trunk that can climb slopes of angles up to 7°, according to Monopoly Dreams.
The bot is also fitted with six loudspeakers on different body parts to support a range of visitors to hear instructions and information clearly.
Moreover, a 10.4 Ah lithium battery capacity was fitted to support the RoboButler to provide long-lasting service.
The park has cited labour savings and increased operational efficiency as motivations for the installation of the robot, which can be used to relieve staff from repetitive tasks.
