Automation technology, software and services company Knapp is collaborating with pharmacy software specialist Pharmatechnik to create an end-to-end solution for managing the packaging of blister packaging.
The automation company’s new D³ Daily Dose Dispenser blister packing machine is a complete system solution from Knapp, designed to produce patient-specific blister packaging fully automatically.
The device fills tablets into the patient blister card directly from their original packaging, which eliminates the need for manual de-blistering, according to Knapp.
What’s more, the KiSoft software controls processes automatically, ranging from the storage of incoming goods to the provision of sorted, printed and sealed patient blister cards.
Pharmatechnik’s pharmacy management system, IXOS, and the module PrecisePro, were developed to provide pharmacies with a complete service for working with blister packaging.
Some of the services provided by the system include master data management, images of the pills, order processing, up to production protocols and QP releases.
The pair have agreed to work together to create an end-to-end solution, which will cover all workflows from the entering of the prescription into the system to completing the patient blister card ready for shipping.
