Warehouse automation company Dexory has announced a partnership with international contract logistics group ID Logistics to deploy autonomous stock-taking robots.
It is hoped that the collaboration will enable high-speed inventory management processes at various logistics facilities throughout ID Logistics’ network.
The Astrid robot underpins the partnership, with the solution being developed to perform live, wall-to-wall inventory checks and flag inaccuracies in real-time.
According to Dexory, this approach both saves hours in stock-taking and enables greater efficiency when dealing with stock discrepancies and the knock-on effects of errors. The robot can reportedly process up to 10,000 pallets per hour.
Beniot Boiron, group innovation manager, ID Logistics, said: “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the evolution of inventory management and warehouse data acquisition.”
“Astrid’s precision and real-time monitoring capabilities have transformed our day-to-day operations, bringing accuracy to new heights.”
ID Logistics has introduced the solution at sites across France and plans to expand its use of Astrid to new territories this year.
Astrid’s scanning abilities also allow for the creation and use of digital twins, with Dexory explaining that this offers customers greater data insights.
This allows clients to make informed decisions and improves overall visibility into inventory management processes, resource allocation and beyond, the robot’s developer added.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with ID Logistics to support the elimination of inventory visibility gaps in their warehouses using real-time data,” commented Oana Jinga, chief operating and product officer at Dexory.
“This partnership represents a significant leap forward in enhancing operational efficiency, accuracy, and overall productivity.”
The latest developments in robotics and automated technologies for materials handling will be on show at the Robotics and Automation Exhibition, which will be held on 19-20 March 2024 at the NEC Birmingham. Register now to attend the UK’s biggest exhibition dedicated to robotics and automation, which is co-located with Britain’s biggest warehousing show, IntraLogisteX, where Dexory will exhibit at Stand 206.
