Auto equipment retailer Thansen has fitted a Copenhagen store with an automated system for goods delivery installed by Element Logic.
Element Logic has said this is the world’s first in-store solution equipped with an AutoStore Pick-Up Port.
Customers order products online before picking an order up in-store, with Thansen adding that this process is immediate.
“With the store located just outside of Copenhagen, we are taking the first, but far from the last step towards the ultimate customer experience, where you as a customer can buy and pick up your goods at any time of the day,” said Ben Jensen, CEO and founder of Thansen.
“No queue, no fixed opening hours. That’s the future, and we are as a chain starting the future now.”
Some 14 robots and more than 18,000 bins power the AutoStore solution to enable the fully-automated process.
“Consumers are constantly pushing the boundaries for delivery times and the degree of flexibility, and as a company, you cannot meet these demands without thinking in terms of smart, automatic solutions,” added Nikolaj Bjørn Eriksen, managing director of Element Logic Denmark.
Element Logic will be exhibiting at Stand 600 the co-located Robotics and Automation and IntraLogisteX 2024 on March 19 and 20 at NEC Birmingham.
