Comau, a provider of industrial automation, has signed a binding agreement to acquire Automha, an Italian firm specialising in warehousing and intralogistics automation.
The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions including regulatory approvals, is expected to be finalised in the second quarter of 2025.
Under the terms of the agreement, Comau will acquire 100% of Automha’s shares from its current owner, Trasma.

The move aims to expand Comau’s capabilities in the rapidly growing warehousing and logistics sector and marks a step toward establishing a modern Italian industrial automation hub with the ability to innovate and compete in global markets.
To maintain continuity, Automha will continue to operate with its existing structure, management, and strategic direction.
The acquisition aligns with Comau’s recent shift in ownership, following the majority stake acquired by One Equity Partners, an international private equity firm. This transition has positioned Comau as a standalone entity with the flexibility to pursue strategic growth initiatives.
Through the acquisition, Comau aims to reinforce its Italian roots while expanding its international presence. Automha, in turn, is expected to benefit from Comau’s broader geographical reach and technological capabilities. The two companies’ complementary offerings are anticipated to enhance their joint project portfolio and market competitiveness.
Pietro Gorlier, CEO of Comau, said: “In addition to capitalising on the strong growth potential of warehousing and intralogistics markets, the integration of Automha within Comau will allow us to leverage our combined expertise and resources, to accelerate innovation and growth across a wide range of global industrial sectors.”
