Home water management firm Ayor has chosen warehouse robotics supplier Exotec to equip its new distribution centre in Marsac-sur-l’Isle in the Dordogne.
The company’s 11,000m² logistics platform supports Ayor’s supply of products to distributors and craftsmen throughout Europe.
Some 37 scalable robotic solutions from Exotec will be brought in to equip the new building, which has a footprint of almost 4,300m². The aim is to automate “up to 90% of order preparation lines and 80% of referencing at the facility”, the robotics company stated.

Exotec’s solutions will replace the traditional order preparation system, which consists of trolleys, machines, shelving and pallets.
This robotisation project, which will be fully operational in June 2024, is hoped to help to improve the quality and responsiveness of deliveries, increase customer satisfaction and significantly improve working conditions for warehouse operators.
Mickaël Hammel, chairman of the Ayor Group, said: “This major investment in the heart of our historic region is in line with our three strategic priorities: to continue to strengthen our industrial sovereignty, to offer fluid and innovative customer experiences, and to innovate in sustainable products and solutions that meet the challenges of our stakeholders.
“This 4.0 logistics centre will enable us to strengthen our logistics expertise, automate and digitise our logistics operations, and offer better working conditions for our employees in an innovative and resolutely eco-responsible building.”
An Exotec spokesperson added that the Skypod system “guarantees” efficient deliveries to the end customer, and can assemble an order in less than two minutes.
The latest developments in robotics and automated technologies for materials handling will be on show at the Robotics and Automation Exhibition, which will be held on 19-20 March 2024 at the NEC Birmingham. Register now to attend the UK’s biggest exhibition dedicated to robotics and automation, which is co-located with Britain’s biggest warehousing show, IntraLogisteX, where Exotec will exhibit at Stand 220.
