Norwegian automated fulfilment technology company AutoStore has announced several new innovations to its grid system.
These include the AutoStore multi-temperature solution, an expanded 18-level grid, a motorised service vehicle, and enhancements to its cube control software.
The developments aim to improve operational efficiency and scalability for retail businesses.
Mats Hovland Vikse, CEO of AutoStore, said: “AutoStore is shifting to a regular cadence of product announcements, focusing on innovation and execution to better serve our customers.
“This autumn, our new products directly address the challenges our customers face while providing them with new tools to improve operational efficiency.”

The multi-temperature solution allows for multiple temperature zones within a single AutoStore cube, accommodating a temperature range from -25°C in the frozen section to 6°C in cooled areas.
Frozen products are picked in chilled zones, reducing the need for workers to operate in extreme temperatures, improving their working environment.
Two installations are currently in progress, one at Haugaland Storhusholdning in Norway, installed by StrongPoint, and another at La Réserve des Saveurs, which will be installed by Swisslog. The solution will be available for order in Q1 2025.

AutoStore has also extended the vertical reach of its grid system, increasing its height to 18 levels with 330mm bins and 26 levels with 220 mm bins. The upgrade increases storage density by up to 12.5% and reduces the required floor space by 11%.
The motorised service vehicle has been developed to provide a safer and more efficient method for performing maintenance tasks on top of the grid. It will be available for order from Q1 2025.
Additionally, AutoStore has updated its cube control software, enabling super users to address system issues during breaks or off-hours, reducing unplanned stoppages. The Unify Analytics platform has also been enhanced to improve system monitoring.
AutoStore (Stand 101) is exhibiting at IntraLogisteX USA on October 22-23, 2024 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Florida! For more information, please visit www.intralogistexusa.com now!
