At LEAP 2025, a global technology event, Saudi Arabia attracted more than $7.5 billion in investments aimed at enhancing the country’s digital infrastructure.
These investments target critical areas such as data centres, submarine and fiber-optic cable networks, positioning the Kingdom as a regional hub for technology and innovation.
DataVolt, in partnership with NEOM, announced a $5 billion investment to build the first ‘fully sustainable’ AI data centre in Oxagon, with a capacity of 1.5 gigawatts (GW).
The facility is set to become a global centre for advanced computing and innovation. Meanwhile, Alfanar revealed plans to invest $1.4 billion in the development of four data centres with a combined capacity of 88 megawatts (MW), supporting the growth of Saudi Arabia’s digital economy.
In another move to bolster the country’s digital infrastructure, Mobily pledged $905 million to develop advanced data centres and submarine cable networks, driving further connectivity. Zoom also committed $75 million to foster AI innovation and establish new data centres to support the tech sector and government initiatives in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia Railways announced a $51 million investment in a private fiber-optic network, aimed at improving the country’s digital connectivity. Additionally, SkyFive revealed a $100 million investment to launch non-terrestrial network services, which will focus on advancing air mobility technologies and innovation in the region.
Further strengthening the Kingdom’s digital capabilities, HPE introduced plans to expand its “Made in KSA” initiative and localise HPE Aruba solutions, prioritising security-first and AI-powered networking.
These investments underscore Saudi Arabia’s growing prominence in the global technology sector and its commitment to driving digital transformation, fostering innovation, and supporting the development of a robust digital economy.
