Teoco, a provider of telecommunications solutions, has collaborated with Magenta Telekom to enhance the efficiency of its wireless network operations through automation.
The integration of Teoco’s SmartCM configuration management platform with an advanced automation framework was done to improve how Magenta managed its wireless network and to minimisr human intervention while maximising performance.
Since 2018, Magenta Telekom has used Teoco’s SmartCM solution to configure its 5G network. The automation framework facilitated the integration of data, services and optimisation algorithms into end-to-end processes.
For instance, if data traffic exceeded predefined thresholds, algorithms automatically adjusted cell parameters to optimise load balancing.
This adaptability allowed Magenta Telekom to tailor automation to various network optimisation tasks, achieving cost savings while enhancing performance.
“Mobile networks require constant fine-tuning,” said Robert Schneider, a senior manager mobile engineering and lifecycle management at Magenta Telekom.
“Monitoring hundreds of millions of cell parameters is an important but time- and labour-intensive task. SmartCM detects discrepancies and adjusts cell parameters immediately and automatically, helping Magenta Telekom to provide better network coverage in a scalable and cost-effective manner. The new framework enables engineers to define workflows that respond to external triggers and automatically take corrective actions.”
Atul Jain, CEO of Teoco, commended Magenta Telekom’s approach and highlighted the significance of the new automation features in optimising network operations for future opportunities.
The collaboration is hoped to lead to future advancements in wireless network management.
