Aaeon, a Taiwanese computer-on-modules developer, has launched a new COM Express Type 10 CPU module, named the NanoCOM-EHL, which will comprise part of its multi-platform range of products powered by Intel Atom x6000E, Celeron and Pentium N and J series processors.
According to Aaeon, the NanoCOM-EHL utilises power-efficient 12W processors and is equipped with an onboard LPDDR4 system memory of up to 16GB on the 3.31in x 2.17in (84mm x 55mm) COM Express Type 10 form factor. Its developer also claims the module can come with the option of 64GB of onboard embedded Multi-Media Card (eMMC) storage.
Aaeon previously exhibited some of its industrial computing solutions at Robotics and Automation 2022.
What’s more, the company designed the new NanoCOM-EHL to have the capacity to host multiple expansion modules using its four PCIe slots, which, when combined with its processing power and small form factor, reportedly makes it suitable for semiconductor test equipment use.
Aaeon also pointed to the module’s I/O features and explained that it comes equipped two high-speed (10Gbps) USB 3.2 slots, eight USB 2.0 slots and a dual LVDS/eDP display output. This, the company said, compliments 2.5GbE and a high-definition audio output interface.
The module was designed to be low-power and feature-dense to give customers a solution applicable to multiple markets.
In particular, the industrial computing firm points to its utility for smart transport applications, due to what it calls the product’s suitability for passenger information system and streaming control applications.
The NanoCOM-EHL is now in mass production, with pricing depending on SKU, according to Aaeon.
