Pollen Robotics becomes the fifth company acquired by Hugging Face.
The company is joining Hugging Face as it marks the one-year anniversary of its LeRobot library, an open-source robotics framework launched in 2024 and led by former Tesla engineer Rémi Cadene.
LeRobot has become a central part of Hugging Face’s robotics work, offering models, datasets, and tools for building robotic systems.
Since its launch, the project has seen significant growth, including a GitHub repository that has accumulated over 12,000 stars in its first year. It has also fostered an active online community, particularly among DIY builders and developers sharing their projects on YouTube and Discord.
Pollen Robotics has focused on the role of robotics as an interface between AI and the physical world, and its integration into Hugging Face reflects a shared interest in keeping that development open and widely accessible.
The acquisition comes amid growing interest in personal robotics. A recent prediction by Hugging Face CEO Clément Delangue suggests that at least 100,000 personal robots could be pre-ordered in 2025, pointing to increased momentum in the sector.
