A private hospital in central has launched a new robotic surgery service, providing colorectal patients with the latest treatment options.
According to the surgical team at King Edward VII’s Hospital in Marylebone, Da Vinci Xi, supplied by Intuitive Surgical, delivers precise, minimally invasive procedures with improved outcomes.
The system will be deployed in the treatment of colorectal cancers, benign colorectal conditions and hernias.
Lindsey Condron, chief executive at King Edward VII’s Hospital, said: “The establishment of our new colorectal robotics service combines the latest technology with the UK’s leading colorectal experts.
“This investment will improve patient outcomes and further enhance quality and safety.”
To date, the team has performed over 500 robotic colorectal procedures. The surgeons said they can therefore utilise a wealth of data to provide the best possible clinical outcomes for patients.
Consultant colorectal surgeon, James Kinross, added: “As surgeons we are always striving for the best possible outcomes for our patients, and we strongly believe that this means using a digital, data-driven approach, as well as the best in surgical expertise and robotic technologies.”
