Longjumeau Hospital in France has recently adopted pharmaceutical automation solutions to support medicine repackaging and introduce automated patient therapy dispensation at the facility.
The solutions were designed to reimagine unit dose pharmacy automation technology, maximise the efficiency of medication management and enable full traceability.
The hospital hopes implementing the robotics will help secure the medication circuit within the hospital and reduce the number of errors that occur in administering medicines to patients, and accordingly improve the quality of care.
One of the solutions was specifically designed to streamline therapy dispensation by automatically managing medicine orders, which is intended to reduce the workload of healthcare workers, especially pharmacy technicians and nurses.
Some of the services the hospital provides include critical care and surgeries; by deploying robotics to complete repetitive tasks, time will freed up to support other medical work, it is hoped.
The solutions were provided by medical automation specialist Deenova, which develops products to reduce therapy errors and optimise workflow efficiency in healthcare settings.
