StrongPoint, a provider of grocery retail technology, has signed an agreement to expand its Nordics and Baltics partnership with warehouse robot technology company AutoStore to now include the UK and Ireland.
AutoStore is signed up to exhibit at Stand 400 at IntralogisteX 2023, which will be co-located with Robotics and Automation 2023.
The robotics company provides an automation solution – named Cube Storage Automation – that uses a cubic design for grocery retailers looking to scale their e-commerce operations.
It claims that this design supports storage of four times the inventory in the same space, or all of an organisation’s existing inventory in one quarter of the space.
The two companies hope to combine the software with StrongPoint’s grocery management experience in order to boost efficiency and secure return on investment.
What’s more, the pair suggests that automation is high on the agenda for grocery retailers looking to benefit from digital retail and add additional capacity to existing in-store or dark store manual order picking.
“We look forward to bringing our unique expertise from the world’s most innovative and cutting-edge AutoStore installation, purpose-built for groceries with automation at all three temperature zones, to the UK and Ireland,” said Jacob Tveraabak, CEO of StrongPoint group.
“Automation for groceries is unlike any other sector and we have over 35 years collective experience in food management, working for grocery retailers in over 20 countries.”
Back in October, StrongPoint was chosen to design and install the world’s first AutoStore grid with three temperature zones, including ambient, chilled and frozen, for grocery distribution logistics.
