Hanwha Precision Machinery has opened a European technical centre near Frankfurt, Germany, following an official launch ceremony by company president Ki-Nam Le.
Through the Hanwha Europe Technical Center, the company aims to increase its European sales by a minimum of €30m (£25.6m) and make Europe account for more than 15% of its total sales.
The new facility also marks the first time a Korean manufacturer of surface mount technology (SMT) mounters, Swiss turning and cobots has opened a technical centre in Europe.
As well as attracting new customers and large projects from across the continent, the centre, which is located in Mörfelden-Walldorf, 10 minutes from Frankfurt, will offer local customers technologies and services including training programmes, cycle time computations, and production demonstrations.
The two-storey Hanwha Europe Technical Center features 711m2 (7,653ft2) of floor space comprising a showroom, training facilities, offices, and a conference room.
“We’re very proud to be establishing this technical centre in Germany, the home of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This is where we’ll begin accelerating our growth in the European market,” said Hanwha Precision Machinery president Ki-Nam Lee.
“Moving forward, we hope that the technical centre will help increase our sales in Europe and create a synergy between Hanwha’s business and technology behind precision machinery.”
