The ceremony for the inaugural Robotics & Automation Awards will take place at the stunning De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in central London on 31 October 2023, it has been announced.
Standing on Great Queen Street, which connects Covent Garden with Holborn in the West End of London, the Grade II listed building has a history dating back to 1775 and was once home to the original Freemasons’ Tavern before becoming a hotel in 1909.
Since then, the venue has hosted some of the world‘s leading politicians, royalty and celebrities with its grand Georgian architecture, original features and art-deco interiors. It was also featured in the most recent season of BBC One’s The Apprentice.
This year’s Robotics & Automation Awards ceremony will be attended by 200-300 professionals from across the robotics and automation value chains, including those working for OEMs, systems integrators, vendors and suppliers, as well as prominent academics working across related fields.
Guests will be greeted with a drinks reception held in the Balmoral Suite ahead of the winners being announced within the impressive surrounds of the Grand Hall (pictured), which features arched ornate ceilings, beautiful wood-panelling and dramatic chandeliers.
On the launch of the first-ever Robotics & Automation Awards, Ursula O’Sullivan-Dale, editor of Robotics & Innovation Magazine, said: “I’m very proud to announce the launch of this brand-new, first-of-its-kind event, which promises to be an unmissable celebration of the best of the best to found in these innovative industries.
“The Robotics & Automation Awards already has strong foundations through its affiliation with the industry-leading Robotics and Automation exhibition and Robotics & Innovation Magazine, and I can’t wait to see it grow independently, too.

“What’s unique about the Robotics & Automation Awards is that it will bring together a diverse array of businesses, organisations, institutions and professionals working with robotics and automation and highlight the hard work and dedication of end-users, solution providers and research institutions alike.
“I am especially excited about the Inspiring the Next Generation Award and Young Innovator categories, which will offer insight into the innovation happening behind the solutions themselves and those starting out in or aspiring to join the industry. These are the people that drive robotics and automation forward.”
Located five minutes from Covent Garden and Holborn tube stations and 30 minutes’ walk or short taxi ride from Kings Cross, St Pancras and Euston train stations, De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms is well-connected for all major London transport links, with Heathrow Airport an hour away by rail or road.
