Daniela Sawyer, senior theme lead – automation at the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), has been confirmed as a speaker at this year’s Robotics and Automation Exhibition.
The event takes place on 25-26 March at the NEC Birmingham and will be co-located with the 10th annual IntraLogisteX and the second-ever Sustainable Supply Chain Exhibition.
Sawyer is an expert in automation and robotics. Her research focuses on robotic machining, accurate robotics and dynamics.
Since joining the AMRC in 2017, Sawyer has led projects for manufacturers across various industries, leveraging both conventional and non-conventional manufacturing techniques.
She has collaborated with organisations such as the Aerospace Technology Institute and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council to advance research in accurate robotics, robotic machining and the application of AI and data science in robotics.
At the exhibition, Sawyer will explain what automation in manufacturing looks like in today’s world, both in the UK and globally. She will also discuss future needs for automation as technology advances within the sector.
The Robotics and Automation Exhibition Conference theatre will feature a diverse line-up of expert speakers representing key sectors including manufacturing, engineering, transport, logistics and supply chain.
Attendees will gain unique insights from industry leaders, innovators, and practitioners at the forefront of automation and robotics technology. See a selection of other speakers and their sessions here.
Topics on this year’s agenda include advancements in collaborative robotics and robotics-as-a-service (RaaS), as well as sessions that explore the impact of robotics on sustainability and the role of robotics in enhancing workplace safety.
The conference aims to provide a comprehensive platform for presenting both current trends and future possibilities in robotics and automation, making it an essential event for professionals looking to stay ahead in this rapidly evolving field.
In total, more than 11,000 attendees are expected to attend this year’s three co-located exhibitions, representing a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, logistics, retail, e-commerce, automotive, aerospace, and technology, as well as key decision-makers from across supply chain, operations, and engineering sectors.
