Swisslog, a specialist in integrating automation solutions for warehouses and distribution centres, has installed a third AutoStore system in Shanghai, China, for Neoperl, a supplier to the sanitary industry.
This marks the third AutoStore system that Swisslog has installed for Neoperl, after completing builds at two previous facilities in Switzerland and Italy.
For this facility, Neoperl selected a Swisslog AutoStore automated solution with a modular design. The system was designed to offer high-density storage and a flexible robotic system for logistics applications.
According to Neoperl, these are the main factors that have led to its continued repurchase, as well as the high availability and stability of the system built by the Swisslog team.
The Chinese site saw the delivery of an AutoStore system fitted with 20,000 bins, 10 R5-redline robots, three conveyor ports, two carousel ports and AutoStore Control Software.
What’s more, installation was reportedly completed in six weeks, with three weeks of commissioning time, representing a short delivery and handling period.
To support the site’s development into a modern logistics hub, this project was also integrated with AutoStore Control System (ACS) and the upper system Opacc ERP management software.
The two softwares were used in collaboration to support unloading, storage buffering, put away, replenishing, picking, packing and shipping processes.
Neoperl claims to have upgraded its logistics system to improve its provision of accurate, efficient and automated fulfilment services to its customers.
AutoStore (Stand i400) will be exhibiting at IntraLogisteX 2023, which will be co-located with Robotics and Automation 2023. To attend to visit for free or find out more, visit www.intralogistex.co.uk or www.roboticsandautomation.co.uk.
