Robotics and Automation – the UK’s largest exhibition dedicated robotics and automation technologies – has officially opened!
Held for the first time since 2019, this year’s edition features more than 60 industry-leading suppliers, including ABB, Bosch Rexroth, KNAPP, Mitsubishi, OnRobot, Schneider Electric and Universal Robots, showcase the technologies transforming supply chains, whether it be in manufacturing, logistics operations or delivery.
These include the latest in industrial and collaborative robotics, end-of-arm tooling, AMRs and AGVs, automated assembly machines and parts handling equipment, motion control and machine-vision technology, sensors and Industry 4.0 advancements.

The two-day exhibition, which closes at 3.30pm on Wednesday 03 November 2021, is providing a unique snapshot of how the industry has reacted to the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as an opportunity for exhibitors to set out their stalls for the challenges that lie ahead.
The game-changing impacts of the pandemic and need to protect against future workforce shortages has seen businesses express growing interest in the potential of robotic automation, which promises faster production and increased manufacturing flexibility, reduced operating costs, improved product quality and consistency, as well as the creation of new business models and revenue streams.

What’s more, Robotics and Automation 2021 is providing a unique opportunity for visitors to take advantage of the UK government’s super-deduction tax incentive, which offers 130% first-year relief on qualifying main rate plant and machinery investments until 31 March 2023.
According to a survey carried out by manufacturers organisation Make UK earlier this year, the introduction of the super-deduction is set to provide a sharp boost to investment for manufacturers as companies plan to increase or bring forward plans in response to the incentive.

And with the return of live events comes the welcome opportunity to once again network, share best practice and build new business relationships with peers across the industry, face to face. Visitors are able to do just that at the Robotics and Automation Conference, which is offering more than a dozen free-to-attend sessions over both days of the exhibition.
Christina Kemp, head of intelligent automation, InDigital – Jaguar Land Rover, Rav Chunilal, head of robotics and artificial intelligence at Sellafield, and the National Robotarium’s academic lead, Yvan Petillot, are among the standout speakers set to share their in-depth knowledge of how robotics and automation are making operations flexible and adaptive in fast-changing industrial environments.
