German-based engineering firm Bosch Rexroth is unveiling its latest robotic solution, a seven-axis collaborative robot (cobot) at Robotics and Automation 2024 at Stand 712.
The company says this marks a significant stride in automation technology and is excited to debut the robot to a UK audience.
As a stand technician explains, this creation comes to the UK market as a result of Bosch Rexroth joining forces with Danish cobot manufacturer Kassow Robots, with the pair combining their expertise to co-create an advanced cobotic solution.
The seven-axis cobot represents a leap forward in versatility and precision, according to Bosch Rexroth. Its extra degree of freedom was implemented to unlock a range of new applications, allowing it to navigate complex tasks “with unparalleled agility and adaptability”.
As show attendees are learning through live demos, this flexibility is complemented by a high payload capacity, enabling the handling of heavier objects.
The cobot’s straightforward integration into existing production lines can ensure a smooth transition to enhanced efficiency, without costly disruptions to workflow, a stand expert explained.
On-hand Bosch experts are also showing off one of the standout features of this collaboration, pointing to the incorporation of Kassow Robots’ lightweight design philosophy, which has resulted in a cobot that is both powerful and compact.
Team members added that this space-saving design opens doors to applications in confined spaces, providing manufacturers with new possibilities for automation.
Visitors to the Robotics and Automation 2024 can experience first-hand the impact of this collaboration as Bosch Rexroth. The company hopes its solution on show will redefine automation standards, offering businesses a competitive edge in an increasingly dynamic and demanding market.
Noting the success of the event so far, Katie Prince, a marketing executive from Bosch Rexroth, said: “We’ve got our new product, the Kassow robot, a seven axis cobot from our newly acquired Kassow company, so we’re looking to branch out.
“Initial thoughts [on Robotics and Automation] are really good, its really busy and we’ve had a lot of engaging conversations so far this morning. There’s been a lot of great energy around.
“We’re also looking to expand our customer base for our stable products.”
