Oxford Technical Solutions (OxTS) has announced it will showcase its range of GNSS-aided inertial navigation systems at Robotics and Automation 2022 for the first time!
As visitors to the show, to be held on 01-02 November at the Coventry Building Society Arena, will discover, OxTS will display its AV200 inertial navigation system (INS) solution tailored for robotics integrators who require precise and robust localisation for their autonomous systems.
According to OxTS, the AV200 INS combines dual GNSS RTK receivers and a compact MEMS inertial measurement unit (IMU) to deliver centimetre-level position and motion data in real time.
Furthermore, the company’s ROS2 driver interface is available to decode the AV200 outputs, giving integrators and developers seamless access to accurate localisation data.
Attendees will get the opportunity to witness the onboard navigation engine performing sensor fusion with an Extended Kalman filter, which can combine not only GNSS and IMU data, but also other sensor information that may be available. This includes Ultra-Wide Band positioning, wheel speed velocity, magnetometer heading and more.
For those interested in using the solution for outdoor applications, OxTS claims that quad constellation RTK GNSS support can ensure maximum satellite coverage for precise global positioning. Moreover, the OxTS gx/ix tight-coupling technology and innovative IMU design have been developed to maintain that performance, even when GNSS is obstructed or blocked completely for short periods.
For indoor applications, OxTS suggests that alternative aiding sources can be combined with the IMU in place of GNSS to achieve similar levels of performance. The company’s generic aiding data (GAD) interface can likewise be used to feed external sensor data in to the Kalman filter.
OxTS’s recently published its GAD SDK in the hope of helping integrators make the most of their sensor payload through the utilisation of existing data to improve navigation performance and the opening up of new opportunities and environments of operation.
