Starship Technologies, provider of autonomous delivery services, announced that it has passed the major milestone of two million commercial deliveries.
Starship’s fleet of over 1,000 robots have travelled more than 2,700,000 miles to date, the first autonomous delivery company to do so. Its robots are operating commercially every day in local neighbourhoods and university and corporate campuses across five different time zones.
Using Starship’s delivery service helps people save time, reduce congestion and reduce pollution, the company said. The use of the autonomous delivery service has saved an estimated 325,720 car journeys.
The most popular products ordered last year include milk and coffee. More than 420,000 bottles of milk, 220,000 coffees, and 106,000 pizzas have been delivered to people across the globe.

Pol Oliver, chief financial officer of Starship Technologies, said: “This is definitely an important milestone for us – exceeding two million autonomous deliveries, after hitting one million just nine months ago is proof that our service is growing fast.
“We’re being asked to expand to more cities and campuses around the world as quickly as possible, showing the need for a sustainable, ethical and low-cost delivery service. This is just the beginning of our journey!”
