Autonomous delivery robots from Starship Technologies are being trialled by Costa Coffee in Milton Keynes, providing contactless delivery from two of the town’s coffee shops.
According to the Coca-Cola-owned chain, residents and workplaces in the surrounding areas of the Sunset Walk and Oakgrove stores will be able to place orders through the Costa Coffee app.
Jamie Awdry, head of formats and propositions at Costa Coffee, said via a LinkedIn post: “Costa Coffee has launched robot coffee delivery with our friends Starship Technologies in Milton Keynes.
“Excited to see how many customers adapt to these great autonomous delivery vehicles.”
Awdry went on to thank Sandra Sooläte, head of UK business development at Starship Technologies, along with a Costa Coffee team member, for “making this happen”.
As previously reported by Robotics & Innovation, Starship has a presence in Milton Keynes working with convenience retailer Co-op for grocery deliveries.
