Physical AI provider Mantis Robotics has secured US$5m in new investments led by Emerald Technology Ventures with participation from Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund, to scale its operations.
Mantis has said that it has “entered the next frontier” in robotics by creating adaptive, human-centred robots.
The company makes industrial robotic arms that eliminate the need for external safeguards such as fences or laser barriers.

Mantis’ technology learns and understands its environment based on sensor data from a built-in sensor-suite which enables the robots to detect obstacles and humans in their direct environment and adjust their behaviour accordingly in real-time, which makes the robot arms autonomous and reportedly safer than traditional methods.
The robots’ deployment software uses 3D real-time digital twin technology which the company says could make it applicable to a range of industries.
