Coval, a French manufacturer of vacuum systems, has introduced the second generation of its CVGC carbon vacuum gripper, designed for use with collaborative robots (cobots).
In 2019, Coval released its first CVGC carbon vacuum gripper designed for collaborative robots. The upgraded gripper is aimed at enhancing modularity, compatibility and performance, with the development following extensive feedback from customers and industry stakeholders.
The redesigned CVGC gripper addresses emerging trends in the collaborative robot market, including increased application diversity, a growing number of manufacturers, and greater co-presence with human operators.
To meet these demands, Coval has made the gripper highly versatile, offering multiple configurations tailored to specific customer needs.
The gripper is available in three sizes, with options for foam or suction cup gripping interfaces and the choice of an integrated vacuum generator. It also features a multi-stage vacuum pump for increased power and a carbon fibre casing that is significantly lighter and stronger than steel, enabling the handling of heavier loads.
Safety enhancements include a flexible guard to protect operators during use.
The new gripper is now compatible with all major cobot brands, making it an ideal tool for various industrial applications such as palletising and box handling.
