Software company Monolith has partnered with About:Energy, which provides a platform that enables battery modelling, to advance the development of electric vehicle (EV) batteries and scalable product modelling and testing using AI.
R&D teams will develop pre-trained battery artificial intelligence models, with the expectation that this will cut time-to-market by up to 18 months.
What’s more, with datasets from numerous batteries, About:Energy’s battery data will enhance manufacturers ability to understand the physics of batteries.
Pre-trained models can deliver more accurate predictions for battery degradation and thermal runaway, leading to a reduced number of tests and associated costs, while also improving battery performance and safety.
Dr. Richard Ahlfeld, CEO and founder of Monolith, said: “Our partnership with About:Energy allows us to build more accurate models predicting battery degradation and thermal runaway, using the most robust and reliable battery test data available to engineers.
“Whether you are an automotive OEM looking for more comprehensive data, a battery manufacturer, or an EV start-up without test facilities, our pre-trained AI models promise to help optimise your battery validation test plans, and ultimately accelerate the availability of better EVs.”
