Rockwell Automation, which specialises in industrial automation and digital transformation, has announced that it has been selected by American carmaker Ford Motor Company to provide solutions for its next three electric vehicle (EV) assembly sites.
The car giant named Rockwell as its vehicle operations primary controls and solutions provider.
The companies hope that collaboration on assembly tooling designs and architectures will increase the speed of commercialisation for Ford’s EVs.
What’s more, Rockwell claims it can help machine builders to meet production customer demands and achieve on-time successful launches.
Blake Moret, chairman and chief executive of Rockwell Automation, said: “We are strengthening the commitment to build world-class electric vehicles for the future and fortifying the relationship between Rockwell and Ford that has been in place for more than 75 years.”
The automated systems will reportedly be put to use in three of Ford’s automotive production complexes in North America: one Canadian site in Oakville, Ontario and the other two in Tennessee and Ohio.
