Volkswagen Automatic Transmission Dalian has deployed Hikrobot’s intelligent robotic systems to improve its intralogistics operations at its China facility.
The Latent Mobile Robots (LMRs) have a lifting height of 60mm and can lift up to 225kg, enabling unmanned transferring of car parts around the plant.
According to the manufacturer, its fleet of LMRs work alongside the production cycle seamlessly. It has reported an increase in logistics efficiency of 46% and the solution has assisted in reducing manual work intensity.
Furthermore, the company added the LMRs result in labour cost savings, with a return on investment in under one and a half years.
