OTTO Motors, a provider of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), has released software designed to give better visibility and depth of fleet performance.
According to the company, facilities operationalising material handling automation can now leverage powerful analytics and insights to target process improvements.
“Over the last few years, we’ve seen facilities test AMRs for automating material handling. Today, they are no longer testing, they are operationalising,” said Jay Judkowitz, VP of product at OTTO Motors. “As a result, our customers’ needs are evolving and we are with them.
“This software release is about giving operators better visibility and depth of their fleet’s performance including dashboards, analytics, video playbacks, and troubleshooting capabilities that are unmatched in the market.
“By having all of this data, our customers are able to quickly direct their valuable labour on where to look to eliminate inefficiencies.”
The latest update includes a host of new features, such as capabilities for independent troubleshooting and fleet analysis
For example, users can playback video snapshots that show what the robot was ‘seeing’ and ‘thinking’ at the time of an issue. As snapshot playback can be done without calling customer support, users can instead run immediate diagnosis of issues on their own.
What’s more, users are shown a historical timeline of exceptions and can create snapshots to send to customer support or for internal playback. Users can review the history of exceptions, spot trends, correlate them to events in their facility and diagnose root causes.
Other features include fleet analytics that provide access and insight into deployed fleets for process improvements. Operators can find jobs, places, robots, or tasks that are slow or failure prone to know where to target process improvements to increase material handling flow.
Finally, a fleet dashboard, designed for big-screen TVs, provides an at-a-glance status of fleets from across the floor, for insights and status tracking.
