Global warehouse robotics firm Geek+ and European e-commerce solutions provider Paack have announced what they claim is the “largest autonomous mobile robot (AMR) programme in Europe” at Paack’s Madrid-based distribution centre.
The scheme, which is also Geek+’s first to handle both last-mile delivery and cross-docking operations, reportedly involves the deployment of 270 robots providing picking, sorting and delivery applications, among others.
The Madrid site will see robots used across the ground floor to support parcel sorting. The new system will reportedly enable almost 100% accuracy for order fulfilment and the processing of more than 10,000 deliveries every hour.

Jackson Zhang, managing director of Geek+ Europe, said: “We are very proud of how the solution we developed with Paack has performed.
“This project underscores Geek+’s commitment to automating the Spanish market, one of the most important to us.”
Paack’s Madrid facility covers more than 27,000m2 (290,625ft2) and manages parcel sorting for more than 60 cities across Spain.
Following a recent funding boost, Paack plans to scale up its e-commerce offering by digitalising more of its logistics operations.
Geek+ offers AMR last-mile delivery solutions for areas in and around Madrid, while cross-docking solutions prepare parcels for expedition to faraway destinations.
