Kompai Robotics, a developer of robotic solutions for healthcare applications, has announced that it will be trialling the transport of medical equipment at its Belharra clinic in Bayonne, France.
The idea behind the trial is to use autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to support the movement of chemotherapy bags from their place of production to the outpatient clinic where they are administered.
This experiment aims to demonstrate the usefulness of AMRs during a pandemic situation.
The trial, named the Syriaca project, began in July 2022 and is intended to promote robotics in Europe, especially within the healthcare sector.
It is run in partnership with the Belharra Clinic of the Ramsay Santé group, also a partner in the project.
The clinic teams will host the AMRs in November 2022.
As well as hospital logistics, the project has other objectives, including supporting the fight against the spread of Covid-19 in hospitals.
