South Korean automotive manufacturer Hyundai Motor Group has announced plans to advance its artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics expertise as part of a wider vision to develop smart mobility solutions.
The company’s new vision is intended to grow the new economy. The new economy broadly refers to the ongoing advancement of an economic system as part of a global transition away from manufacturing-based economies towards service- and technology-driven ones.
Hyundai’s planned work will include projects within a smart city concept, with it hoping this initiative will showcase what it sees as its unique strengths as an intelligent mobility and logistics solutions provider for smart cities.
It also hopes to use this project specifically to expand on its work within the robotics and AI technology sectors.
What’s more, the group presented its smart city vision at an event earlier this year, at which VP Hyeyoung Kim expressed that the company saw smart cities as the future of urban development.
Kim also expanded on how the group has been progressing its development of logistics solutions, and highlighted how its technology and services could offer businesses improved efficiency, convenience and sustainability as part of a broader smart cities vision.
