GreyOrange, a provider of solutions designed to modernise fulfilment operations, has announced a new optimisation in its GreyMatter AI software that delivers assisted picking in order fulfilment, supported through the new Ranger Assist robot.
GreyMatter and Ranger Assist are designed to dynamically optimise and orchestrate how order fulfilment workers and robots work together. Enhanced by AI, the advanced assisted picking robot has been developed to enable collaborative picking for faster, more accurate fulfilment, particularly for fast-moving items in e-commerce orders.
“In today’s on-demand age, consumers are making the rules – convenience and choice are on their terms,” said Akash Gupta, co-founder and chief technology officer, GreyOrange. “Ranger Assist works with GreyMatter to help retailers deliver on customer promises with speed, tackling the challenges of rising order volumes, increasingly competitive labour pools, and escalating consumer expectations for immediate and free deliveries.”
As well as leveraging automation to reduce operator fatigue and boost productivity, Ranger Assist is also configurable for warehouse applications, including storage, multi-operator support and multi-floor operations. It can also augment existing robot fleets or integrate into manual picking operations during peak demand periods.
The company’s GreyMatter AI cloud software-based fulfilment solution is designed to model decisions to drive optimal workflows and execution using adaptive learning. It considers high-performing outcomes, operational factors, order patterns, and resource availability to make real-time fulfilment decisions.
“Enhancing GreyMatter’s capabilities and adding Ranger Assist to our portfolio expands options for how companies can modernise their warehousing, distribution and fulfilment operations by optimising how robots equip workers to meet performance demand,” added Gupta.
