The Hong Kong Industrial Artificial Intelligence & Robotics Centre (FLAIR) and Guardforce AI, a security solutions provider, have signed a research and development (R&D) agreement to develop customised robotics services and AI cloud platforms for clients worldwide.
Under the agreement, Guardforce AI will be provided access to FLAIR technology over an initial two-year period, beginning in August 2022.
Olivia Wang, CEO of Guardforce AI, said: “Collaborating with FLAIR is an important milestone in establishing a first-class R&D centre based in Hong Kong.
“Within the past 24 months, we have been rapidly expanding our RaaS platform from one market to 10 markets, including Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Dubai, Australia, Japan, and the USA, to meet the growing needs of our clients and partners.
“Getting involved with a truly innovative R&D centre will strengthen our ability to build a successful ecosystem surrounding our robotic solutions and will help boost our ability to develop better RaaS solutions that will be specifically tailored to the requirements of local markets.”
FLAIR, located at the Hong Kong Science Park, was founded by the Hong Kong Productivity Council, with RWTH Aachen Campus in Germany as its major collaborator.
