Autonomous building technology company BrainBox AI has announced a deal with AMP Capital to deploy its AI-driven technology in Australia and New Zealand, continuing its global expansion.
The deal means BrainBox AI’s technology, which combines deep learning, cloud-based computing and autonomous decision-making, across the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions.
BrainBox AI’s solution is designed to improve heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in 24/7 self-operating buildings via a 25% reduction in energy costs, a 20-40% reduction in carbon footprint and a 60% increase in occupant comfort.
AMP Capital, a global investment management company, said it now becomes the first organisation in the world to install an autonomous AI HVAC system across its managed real estate portfolio, which includes central business district office buildings, retail shopping centres and logistics facilities throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Daniel Lepore, head of asset technology at AMP Capital, said: “For too long, air conditioning systems have been too slow to react to changes in the weather, wasting energy and costing both the environment, tenants and investors.
“Now, we won’t have to wait for customers to pick up the phone, the system will respond before there is even an issue. This exciting initiative is also another step towards reducing our carbon footprint, taking us ever closer to our net zero carbon aspirations and delivering our 2030 sustainability strategy.”
Since BrainBox AI’s launch in May 2019, the company has partnered with 30 real estate operators across the world, representing over 40,000,000ft2 of commercial real estate across five continents.
